Pricing Actuary - Commercial / Specialty Lines
Selby Jennings have partnered with a global specialty insurer, currently seeking a skilled Pricing Actuary to join their European Commercial and Specialty team.
This is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced actuary to support the growth of a diverse European portfolio, including Casualty, FinPro, Energy, and Marine Lines. The successful candidate will lead the development of technical pricing tools, support strategic underwriting decisions, and drive innovation in digital rating and advanced analytics.
You'll build and maintain technical rating tools, price large accounts, and monitor performance across portfolios. You'll ensure pricing standards are met, lead actuarial input into business reviews, and analyse MI to identify trends and opportunities. You'll work with underwriters on profitability deep dives and strategic growth plans, and collaborate with data science teams to implement predictive analytics and AI solutions. You'll also drive pricing and monitoring processes for digitally rated business across Europe.
You'll collaborate closely with underwriting teams across European branches, as well as data science and actuarial colleagues globally, to deliver best-in-class pricing capabilities. The role offers significant exposure to senior stakeholders and the chance to shape pricing strategy across multiple markets.
Role Requirements:
- Qualified actuary or equivalent Masters degree study.
- Professional-level English and French proficiency.
- Extensive experience in pricing and strategic portfolio analysis within commercial and specialty insurance.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience using actuarial software and relevant programming languages, i.e., VBA, SAS, Python etc.
- Ability to work across multiple European locations and engage with senior underwriting leadership.
