Performance Improvement Managing Director

A boutique consulting firm is seeking to bring on a Managing Director to join their Performance Improvement practice. This executive-level role is ideal for a seasoned operator and advisor with deep experience in driving operational transformation and financial optimization across private equity-backed businesses.
The Managing Director will serve as a strategic partner to private equity clients and portfolio company leadership, leading high-impact engagements focused on liquidity, performance, and organizational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead initiatives in Liquidity & Working Capital Optimization, Strategic Analytics & Planning, and Performance Measurement & Management to drive measurable impact.
- Diagnose key business challenges, forecast liquidity needs, and identify inefficiencies in financial/accounting processes and organizational design.
- Ensure findings and opportunities are clearly communicated and aligned with client expectations.
- Oversee project management and implementation, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and approaches are logical and achievable.
- Develop and execute plans to optimize working capital, improve transparency, and instill a liquidity-focused culture.
- Identify risks early, create contingency plans, and maintain proactive communication with clients.
- Drive business development efforts by cultivating relationships with private equity firms, identifying new opportunities, and expanding the firm's client base.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience in management consulting or private equity operations
- Proven success leading performance improvement initiatives across diverse industries
- Strong network within the private equity ecosystem and demonstrated business development capabilities
- Deep expertise in operational and financial value creation levers
- Exceptional communication skills and executive presence
