Metals Sales

A leading commodities brokerage is looking to add a Junior Metals Salesperson to its growing London team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual to develop a career in metals markets, working alongside experienced brokers and sales professionals while building relationships with producers, consumers, trading houses, hedge funds and other market participants.

Responsibilities

  • Support senior brokers and salespeople in managing existing client relationships.
  • Develop new business across base and precious metals markets.
  • Provide clients with market colour, pricing updates and relevant trading opportunities.
  • Assist with the execution of futures, options, swaps and spread transactions.
  • Monitor metals prices, LME activity, market liquidity and key macroeconomic developments.
  • Build relationships with physical trading houses, producers, consumers and financial institutions.
  • Maintain accurate client records and support the wider sales pipeline.
  • Work closely with broking, execution and research teams to deliver a high-quality service.
  • Attend client meetings, conferences and industry events as the individual develops within the role.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in commodities, financial markets, sales, broking or a related commercial role.
  • A genuine interest in base metals and/or precious metals markets.
  • Some understanding of LME products, futures, options or commodity derivatives would be advantageous.
  • Confident communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Commercially driven, proactive and comfortable developing new business.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, target-driven brokerage environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Existing client relationships are beneficial but not essential.

The Opportunity

The successful candidate will join an established brokerage offering direct exposure to global metals markets, experienced professionals and a broad institutional and corporate client base.

The role provides a clear opportunity to develop technical market knowledge, build an independent client portfolio and progress into a revenue-generating metals sales or broking position.
