Junior Data Scientist, Investment Research
A leading multi-manager investment platform is seeking a Data Scientist to join a central equities research team focused on developing insights from large-scale alternative datasets. This role sits at the intersection of data science, financial markets, and investment research, partnering closely with senior leaders to evaluate business performance, identify emerging trends, and build scalable analytical solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze diverse alternative datasets to generate actionable insights on companies, industries, and market developments.
- Design and maintain scalable data pipelines, research frameworks, and analytical tools to support investment decision-making.
- Apply statistical modeling, machine learning, and experimentation techniques to extract signal from complex datasets.
- Work directly with portfolio managers, analysts, and other stakeholders to translate business questions into data-driven research.
Job Requirements:
- 1-5 years of experience in data science, quantitative research, alternative data, or a related analytical field
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL
- Experience working with large, complex datasets and building production-quality analytical workflows
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field [Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, etc.] from a top university
- Prior exposure to equity financial markets or sector data [energy, industrials, financials, TMT, consumer, etc.] highly preferred.
