A Miami-based investment firm with over $1 billion in assets under management is seeking to add an Investment Analyst to its public equities team. The firm employs a fundamental, research-driven approach focused primarily on small- and mid-cap companies, with a particular emphasis on identifying differentiated opportunities within the consumer sector.
Working closely with senior investment professionals and the CIO, the Analyst will be involved in idea generation, company research, financial modeling, and ongoing portfolio analysis. Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed fundamental research on public companies, with an emphasis on small- and mid-cap equities.
- Build and maintain financial models, valuation analyses, and industry frameworks.
- Generate investment ideas through company research, industry analysis, channel checks, and primary diligence.
- Monitor portfolio holdings and track company developments, earnings results, and industry trends.
- Prepare investment memoranda and present research findings to senior members of the investment team.
- Support the firm's ongoing research efforts across consumer and related sectors.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in investment banking, private equity, hedge funds, equity research, or a related investing role.
- Strong preference for candidates with consumer sector experience.
- Exceptional financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skillset.
- Outstanding academic credentials, ideally from a highly regarded university.
- Strong quantitative aptitude combined with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated passion for investing and public markets.
