Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Integration Engineer to design and implement API-based integrations between a proprietary client platform and a range of third‑party file‑sharing and virtual data room (VDR) systems.
This role is highly technical and hands-on, with a strong focus on backend integration work, secure data ingestion, authentication flows, and enterprise-grade reliability. You'll be responsible for building production-ready connectors that enable secure access to documents, metadata, and folder structures for downstream analysis.
This is an ideal opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving integration challenges, working deeply with APIs, and delivering robust solutions in cloud-native environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and integrate APIs from leading file-sharing and data room providers
- Design scalable and secure integration architectures for document access and ingestion
- Build production-ready connectors to retrieve:
- Files
- Metadata
- Folder and permission structures
- Implement authentication and authorisation mechanisms (OAuth, tokens, permissions)
- Enable structured ingestion of external data into the core platform for analysis
- Implement basic logging, monitoring, and error handling
- Collaborate with internal teams to support testing, deployment, and early iteration
- Ensure integrations meet enterprise security and data-handling standards
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience designing and implementing API integrations (REST-based)
- Hands-on experience with OAuth and authentication/authorization flows
- Solid understanding of file systems and document management concepts
- Proven experience integrating with file-sharing or data room platforms such as:
- Box
- Dropbox
- SharePoint
- Google Drive
- Virtual Data Rooms (e.g. Intralinks, iDeals, DocSend)
- Strong backend development experience using Python
- Experience working with AWS in production environments
- Familiarity with secure data handling, permissions, and enterprise systems
- Comfortable working independently in a remote, fast-moving setup
Nice to Have
- Light frontend experience (e.g. React) to support integration interfaces
- Experience building internal SDKs, connectors, or platform integrations
- Previous experience in regulated or enterprise environments (finance, legal, healthcare)
