We are representing an established global macro hedge fund looking to hire an Emerging Markets Portfolio Manager to join its investment team in New York.
The firm has built a 15+ year profitable track record and a strong reputation as a specialist within Emerging Markets. Unlike the traditional multi-manager / pod model, the fund operates a highly collaborative investment structure, with Portfolio Managers supported by substantial centralized resources across research, analytics and execution.
The firm is looking to add an experienced EM specialist who will be given the capital, infrastructure and autonomy to build and manage a standalone portfolio.
The Opportunity
- Join an established global macro hedge fund with a 15+ year profitable track record and longstanding expertise across Emerging Markets.
- Take ownership of a standalone EM portfolio, with responsibility for idea generation, portfolio construction and risk management.
- Operate within a collaborative investment environment rather than a pod-shop structure, allowing PMs to work alongside the broader investment organization.
- Benefit from extensive centralized support functions across research and execution, allowing the PM to remain focused on investment decisions and portfolio management.
- The fund is comfortable providing its PMs with meaningful risk and offers significantly more favorable drawdown parameters than are typically available across multi-strategy platforms.
- The platform takes a long-term approach to building PM businesses. New hires are given appropriate time to establish their portfolios and can often have 2+ years to become fully ramped.

Candidate Profile
- Significant experience investing across Emerging Markets macro.
- Demonstrable experience running risk and constructing a portfolio around an independent investment process.
- Strong understanding of portfolio construction, position sizing and risk management.
- Ability to generate differentiated investment ideas across relevant EM markets and instruments.
- Comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy while contributing to a collaborative investment culture.
- Suitable for an established PM, or an experienced investor with a demonstrable track record who is ready to take responsibility for a standalone portfolio.
Compensation & Structure
Successful candidates will receive:
