Director - Senior Credit Officer, Real Estate
A Global Investment Bank is seeking a Director level Senior Credit Officer to join their Credit Risk function in New York City. The role involves credit analysis and risk assessment across Real Estate and CMBS transactions. The successful candidate will own the Credit process from underwriting through portfolio monitoring, operating closely with the business / front office team, and exercising credit approvals and recommendation for approval.
This position offers high visibility, the opportunity to influence credit quality, policy, and risk appetite for a large portfolio spanning across Commercial Real Estate, Balance Sheet lending, REITs and CMBS.
Responsibilities
- Credit analysis of Commercial Real Estate, CMBS, Balance Sheet, and REITs transactions, as well as other real assets including project finance
- Monitor the credit quality of the portfolio and provide portfolio reviews and early detection of deteriorating credits
- Assist in preparation of credit memos and present to credit committee and key stakeholders
- Provide approval or recommendation for approval based on limits being considered for final decision
Qualifications
- 10+ years of Credit Risk experience in Commercial Real Estate and CMBS
- Good understanding of risks impacting Real Estate
- Strong analytical and judgment skills to understand complex transactions
