Director of Capital Formation (Hedge Fund - CLO)

Director of Capital Formation (Hedge Fund - CLO) | South Florida

The firm is an established, credit-focused investment manager specializing in long-only structured credit strategies, with a long-standing presence in the CLO market. The platform offers commingled investment vehicles designed to provide attractive risk-adjusted returns across market cycles and to serve as a differentiated fixed income alternative for institutional investors.

Due to increased investor interest and continued platform growth, the firm is seeking a Director of Capital Formation to lead capital raising efforts across its structured credit strategies. This is an individual contributor role that offers significant autonomy, close alignment with senior investment professionals, and meaningful upside tied directly to fundraising success.

The Director of Capital Formation (Hedge Fund - CLO) will be responsible for:

  • Raising capital for the firm's long-only structured credit and CLO strategies
  • Leveraging existing institutional relationships to source and close new investor allocations
  • Engaging directly with pensions, endowments, foundations, insurance companies, and other institutional investors
  • Effectively communicating the firm's investment approach, historical performance characteristics, and risk profile of structured credit relative to other fixed income options
  • Conducting outbound investor outreach where appropriate
  • Managing investor relationships from initial engagement through allocation and onboarding
  • Partnering with internal investment, operations, and compliance teams to support fundraising initiatives
  • Supporting capital formation efforts across the broader investment platform

The Director of Capital Formation (Hedge Fund - CLO) should have:

  • 10-15+ years of experience (minimum ~5 years for exceptional candidates) in institutional fundraising, capital markets, or investment sales
  • Direct experience selling structured credit or CLO strategies preferred; senior high-yield credit experience considered with strong product fluency
  • An established institutional investor network, particularly within pensions, endowments, foundations, and insurance companies
  • Strong understanding of long-only fixed income and structured credit strategies
  • A demonstrable track record of independently raising capital and closing allocations
  • Willingness to proactively originate relationships, including outbound outreach
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and comfort operating without a traditional sales hierarchy
  • Openness to being based in South Florida (preferred, but not strictly required); select New York-based candidates may be considered
