About the Firm

Our client is a leading alternative investment management platform focused on private markets strategies. The firm has established long-term relationships with institutional investors, family offices, wealth platforms, consultants, and high-net-worth investors across the United States. Due to continued growth, the firm is seeking to add a Director, Business Development to help drive fundraising efforts and cultivate new investor relationships across key markets.

This is a highly visible opportunity for a motivated fundraising professional who thrives in a relationship-driven environment and enjoys developing new business opportunities from inception through close.

The Director, Business Development Will Be Responsible For:

  • Developing and executing business development strategies to expand the firm's investor network and capital raising efforts.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with institutional investors, RIAs, family offices, consultants, private banks, and other capital sources.
  • Identifying, qualifying, and pursuing new investor prospects across assigned territories.
  • Managing fundraising opportunities throughout the entire sales cycle, from initial outreach through commitment.
  • Collaborating closely with senior leadership and investment professionals to support fundraising initiatives.
  • Representing the firm at conferences, industry events, and investor meetings.
  • Maintaining a robust pipeline of prospective investors and delivering regular updates on business development activity.
  • Tracking market trends, investor appetite, and competitive dynamics within the alternative investment landscape.
  • Supporting strategic initiatives designed to increase awareness of the firm's platform and investment offerings.

The Director, Business Development Should Have:

  • 5-10 years of business development, capital raising, fundraising, or institutional sales experience within alternative investments.
  • Demonstrated success raising capital for private markets investment strategies.
  • Existing relationships with institutional investors, family offices, RIAs, consultants, and other investor channels.
  • Established network across the Midwest and/or East Coast preferred.
  • Experience fundraising within real estate, private credit, structured finance, or other alternative asset classes preferred.
  • Proven ability to originate and convert new investor relationships into committed capital.
  • Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and highly driven approach to business development.
