Role Overview:
We are seeking a Data Engineer to join a growing Equity Research AI team. This position will focus on building and maintaining data pipelines that power research workflows, analytics, and AI-driven applications. The successful candidate will work closely with research professionals and technology teams to ensure financial and market data is accurate, reliable, and accessible for investment analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, build, and maintain scalable data ingestion and transformation pipelines.
Collect, clean, normalise, and structure financial and market datasets for research applications.
Support the management of equity market and company-level data across multiple sources.
Improve data quality, consistency, lineage, and governance practices.
Develop and maintain datasets used by analysts and AI-powered tools.
Resolve data challenges related to entities, corporate actions, identifiers, events, and time-series data.
Collaborate with researchers, data specialists, and engineers to understand evolving business requirements.
Contribute to the development of a centralised, AI-ready data platform that integrates internal and external data sources.
Key Requirements:
3+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms, or financial data-related roles.
Strong programming skills in Python.
Strong SQL and data querying experience.
Experience working with financial datasets such as market data, fundamentals, estimates, company information, or related data domains.
Knowledge of Chinese equity market data and associated datasets.
Hands-on experience with financial data providers and their data structures, APIs, or bulk data delivery mechanisms.
Strong understanding of data modelling, schema design, and pipeline development.
Experience building reliable and maintainable data infrastructure.
Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to Have:
Experience using major financial data platforms such as Bloomberg, FactSet, Wind, or similar providers.
Exposure to investment research, asset management, or financial analytics environments.
Mandarin language skills for working with Chinese-market data sources.
Experience supporting data requirements for AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics initiatives.
