Crypto Devops Engineer
Overview of the Role
As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a critical role in building the automation, tooling and operational foundations that support complex Layer 2 networks. You will work closely with protocol engineers and external L2 teams, spinning up and managing test nets, automating deployments and supporting protocol upgrades and hard forks. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys tackling distributed systems challenges and working at the intersection of infrastructure and protocol engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Spin up, configure and maintain test nets for internal development and external partner use.
- Build automated infrastructure and deployment tooling to support L2 systems at scale.
- Collaborate with L2 engineering teams to support onboarding, integration and ongoing operations.
- Prepare, run and troubleshoot protocol upgrades, hard forks and major network transitions.
- Implement monitoring, alerting and observability across test and staging environments.
- Contribute to documentation, operational best practice and continuous reliability improvements.
Required Technical Skills
- Strong programming experience in Python, Rust, C++ or Go
- Hands‑on experience with DevOps tooling, CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.
- Strong Linux fundamentals, including managing cloud or bare‑metal environments.
- Experience with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes or similar).
- Understanding of distributed systems or blockchain infrastructure is advantageous.
- Knowledge of L2 architectures (optimistic rollups, zk‑rollups, etc.) is a plus.
