Overview
Our client is a large, globally recognized institutional investor managing a diversified portfolio across public and private markets. With a long-term investment horizon and significant scale, the firm allocates capital across credit, equities, real assets, and alternative strategies. They are seeking a Credit Strategist to join the Portfolio Strategy team, which develops forward-looking views across macro, equity, and credit markets and translates them into portfolio construction and asset allocation decisions.
The Team
The team serves as the link between top-down market views and capital allocation, driving strategic and tactical asset allocation, cross-asset relative value, and thematic insights across portfolios.
The Role
The Credit Strategist will develop top-down views across U.S. credit markets and translate them into actionable portfolio positioning and allocation recommendations. The role spans public and private credit, including direct lending, structured credit, real estate debt, and IG/HY markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop views on credit beta, spreads, defaults, and relative value across markets
- Translate market views into portfolio positioning, sizing, and allocation decisions
- Partner with macro and equity teams to align cross-asset views and identify opportunities
- Monitor markets and portfolio exposures, highlighting risks and recommending adjustments
- Support thematic research and translate insights into portfolio actions
- Deliver clear, decision-oriented insights to senior leadership
Qualifications
- Strong investment judgment across credit cycles and markets
- Solid analytical and portfolio construction skillset
- Ability to connect credit with macro and cross-asset dynamics
- Strong communication skills with experience influencing senior stakeholders
Ideal Background
- 8-10+ years of experience in credit strategy, multi-asset investing, or portfolio management
- Exposure to both public and private credit markets preferred
- Demonstrated ability to translate market views into portfolio outcomes
Technical Skills
- Strong modeling capabilities
- Familiarity with tools such as Bloomberg, PitchBook, or similar platforms
