Associate - ECM
We're currently representing one of the largest European bank in Hong Kong on a lookout for ECM juniors as a result of an increased activity within their ECM transaction pipeline.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transaction Execution: Support the origination and execution of ECM transactions including IPOs, rights issues, placements, and convertible bond offerings. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders including legal, compliance, syndicate, and research teams.
- Market Analysis: Monitor equity markets, analyse investor sentiment, and provide insights on pricing, timing, and structuring of equity offerings. Prepare market updates and pitch materials for clients.
- Client Engagement: Assist in preparing and delivering client presentations, roadshow materials, and investor education documents. Participate in client meetings and due diligence sessions.
- Financial Modelling: Build and maintain financial models to support valuation and transaction structuring. Analyse company financial, industry trends, and peer group performance.
- Documentation & Compliance: Draft and review offering documents, prospectuses, and regulatory filings. Ensure all transactions comply with local and international regulatory requirements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with corporate finance, legal, and syndicate teams to ensure seamless execution of deals. Liaise with stock exchanges and regulatory bodies as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field
- CFA or CPA qualification is a plus
- 2-4 years of experience in equity capital markets, investment banking, or a related capital markets role
- Familiarity with Hong Kong and China equity markets is highly desirable
- Strong financial modelling skills and proficiency in Excel
- Experience with financial tools such as Bloomberg or FactSet is an advantage
- Fluent in English; proficiency in Mandarin is strongly preferred
- Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work well in a team and manage multiple tasks under pressure
- Detail-oriented, reliable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
