Role Description
The PPTS department is within the first line of defence under COO Office and contribute to the success of the Santander through a group of knowledgeable professionals that manage the branch operational process and monitor any risks or control, enabling the achievement of strategic objectives and supporting the Santander goals within agreed risk appetite constraints.
The incumbent requires to ensure compliance with all contractual obligations, detect any sign of deterioration in the Debtor's credit quality to preserve the Bank's and ECAs interests. The role has a strong focus on the Operational Risk Control, ensuring that the Bank is covered in the event of Client default, Improving the quality of our internal and external service.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical support in the documentary preparation of operations;
2. Review documentation prior to execution and control of contracts and guarantees be aligned with the Mandated Term Sheet and Risk Approval;
3. Verification of the conditions precedent for entry into force and subsequent conditions for disbursements;
4. Monitoring of operations, compliance with covenants, control of collaterals, treatment of waivers;
5. Follow-up of the coverage with the ECAs for new application, waiver application and recoveries, etc;
6. Provide input for credit proposals and follow-up on credit approval process;
7. Timely execution of tasks assigned via effective collaboration between teams and branches;
8. Communicate with colleagues across different functions including Corporate & Investment Banking team, Product Specialists, Legal, Risk, Back Office, KYC and Compliance to ensure that the deal flow is being achieved;
9. Contribute to skills development of colleagues in the region by sharing knowledge, experience and expertise;
10. Work of the Agent Bank from the point of view of MO as assigned, including to communicate with the lending banks for all loan administrative matters, with ECA for ECA policy issuance, waivers and consents, amendment of loan agreement, sell down matters, and other enquiries from clients / lenders / ECA / insurers / external counsels, etc;
11. Assist in ad hoc projects as assigned.
Basic Requirements
1. University degree in Economics and/or Business Administration related disciplines.
2. Postgraduate courses and specialization courses in Finance and Risk will be valued.
3. Minimum 7 years of experience in banking industry with knowledge in international trade, international trade financing contracts and international bank guarantees, syndication loan/ security documentation, and exposure to trade finance or related middle office/ control/ operations functions.
4. Knowledge in international trade, international trade financing contracts, international bank guarantees and ECA covered transactions.
5. Knowledge of languages: fundamental English, and Korean and Chinese
6. High proficiency in PC knowledge, specifically Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
7. Flexibility and adaptation to change, with a great capacity for teamwork by establishing relationships of collaboration and trust. Rigorous in the processes, orderly and with analytical capacity.
8. Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills with strong sense of control and problem-solving skills.
