This business unit handles the trading of crude oil, petrochemicals, natural gas, power, emissions and the associated derivatives across several international offices.
The primary function of this role would be to contribute to the development and implementation of trading strategies for the biofuel desk.
Close cooperation with the trading, operations, upstream marketing, middle office and back office functions will enable the successful candidate to gain valuable experience in a rapidly expanding market.
Role Responsibilities for Trading Analyst:
- Support the traders through; business development activities in collaboration with internal departments, liaising with middle office for P&L reconciliations.
- Data entry for cargo sales, purchases, freight pricing & costs as well as additional costs related to each transaction.
- Create a variety of reports based on market analysis, supply & demand, arbitrage calculations and internal data reports.
- Assisting with risk management and market risk analysis.
- Deal with internal shipping department and international trading desks.
Individual Attributes for Trading Analyst:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or Economics preferred.
- Proficient programming skills (SQL, VBA, Python)
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Prior experience within an analysis or operations capacity would be ideal.
- Knowledge of the biofuel sector.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic working environment.
- Result oriented approach and ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Fluency in English is essential. Additional language skills would be advantageous.
