Job Description:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Sr. Manager Actuary to join our dynamic team of healthcare professionals. In this role you will be responsible for pricing, reserving setting strategies, forecasting, Medicare ACOs, and leading projects. You will be working closely with the Senior Product management team and risk adjustment team. This is a perfect position for someone who wants to get into management or continue their management experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Actuarial Analysis: Conduct comprehensive actuarial analyses of Medicare programs, including pricing, risk assessment, and financial forecasting.
Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret large datasets related to healthcare claims, utilization, and population demographics to identify trends and provide data-driven recommendations.
Modeling: Develop and maintain actuarial models to assess the financial impact of various healthcare strategies and scenarios, including risk adjustment and risk mitigation strategies.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams within the company, including healthcare analysts, consultants, and data scientists, to improve product performance.
Management: Develop and advise direct reports and other staff for at least one line of business (e.g. ACA, Medicare, Medicaid, SSP, Large Group).
Continuous Learning: Stay informed about emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in Medicare and actuarial science to enhance the firm's capabilities.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field. Master's degree or actuarial credentials (e.g., ASA or FSA)
* Proven experience as an actuary with a focus on Medicare programs.
* Strong proficiency in actuarial modeling and statistical analysis using software such as SAS, R, or Python.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex actuarial concepts to non-technical audiences.
* Exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
* Strong project management skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
* Commitment to staying updated on industry trends and regulations.
