Role: Senior Consultant, Insurance
Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands
As a Senior Consultant within our client's Insurance Advisory team, you'll provide expert guidance to clients on a range of topics including Solvency II, Asset & Liability Management, IFRS9 & IFRS17, actuarial modeling, risk management, hedging strategies, and regulatory requirements. Collaborating closely with clients and partners, and supported by a team of seasoned risk management experts, you'll craft tailored solutions to challenging business cases, honing both your technical prowess and entrepreneurial spirit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Solvency II: Assess technical provisions, evaluate SCR (standard formula or internal model), validate internal models, support Actuarial Function, and prepare regulatory reports.
- Implementation of IFRS 17 and IFRS 9 across all project phases: Scoping, Design, Dry-Run, operational implementation, and financial statement production.
- Risk Management: Define and develop risk appetite framework, conduct ORSA investigations, and optimize risk management processes.
- Climate Risks: Identify climate risks, develop stress test scenarios, and assess their impact on solvency, integrating them into the ORSA system.
- Actuarial Modeling: Participate in designing, improving, reviewing, or validating ALM models enabling S2 and IFRS 17 calculations.
- Strategic Asset Allocation: Conduct ALM studies, determine efficient frontiers, and validate optimal asset allocation.
- Analyze and interpret complex regulations and standards.
- Participate in the implementation of various risk models, tools, or solutions.
- Develop and automate production of risk and regulatory reporting (e.g., QRT, KPI dashboards).
- Devise customized solutions, considering clients' business climate and capacity to meet regulatory requirements.
In addition to these responsibilities, you'll be expected to:
- Cultivate and maintain close relationships with our clients.
- Actively participate in business development initiatives and internal projects.
- Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and the technical team, translating business requirements into detailed IT specifications.
- Enhance our client's reputation in the financial sector through publications in our Regulatory Brief and participation in external conferences or networking events.
Key Requirements:
- Master's degree in Econometrics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or equivalent by experience (preferably Actuaris AG).
- Minimum of 6 years' experience in the insurance industry.
- Strong knowledge of insurance regulations and requirements.
- Excellent project management skills, including leading large and complex projects.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as R, Python, SAS, MATLAB, etc., with a willingness to further develop skills in this area.
- Familiarity with actuarial tools such as Prophet, AXIS, or Remetrica is a plus.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills in Dutch and English.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
- Quick learner.
- Willingness to travel/work throughout Europe.
