Key Responsibilities
- This role reports into the Chief Operating Officer
- Responsible for physically trading refined base metal products (ideally refined copper) globally
- Monitor the futures market so as to carry out timely and efficient pricing and hedging strategies
- Set up a business team and lead the team to achieve business growth and stabilise its international business
- Create and build on relationships with international clients and suppliers
- Use market analysis and insight to identify new business opportunities and inform trading strategies
- Work closely with other departments (logistics, operations etc.) to ensure a smooth supply chain and high customer service
Key requirements
- At least 7 years of experience trading of refined base metals product (ideally copper refined products)
- Entrepreneurial and strong set of business acumen
- Strong origination and sales experience
- An existing portfolio of clients/contacts within the base metal space
- Excellent knowledge of the base metals markets in Asia
- Good knowledge and experience in day to day base metal trading operations
