An international commodity trading & marketing house, with activities in crude oil production and refined petroleum product exportation, is currently looking to expand its refinery team.
Primary Function
To ensure optimisation of the refinery through the preparation and execution of the monthly refinery operating plan using the refinery Linear Program and ultimately contributing to the business's profitability.
Role Responsibilities for Refinery Planner
- Scheduling the delivery of crude grades and feedstocks in accordance with the respective availabilities and volumes.
- Proactively manage the potential scenarios around shipments arriving before or behind schedule.
- Undertake ad-hoc analysis of investment plans for refineries and monitor capital spending.
- Prepare the quarterly, yearly and strategic budget plans for the refinery.
- Effectively communicate manufacturing operations which specify targets for intakes, operating modes, run down qualities, contingency plans etc.
- Exporting surplus refinery streams to other refineries.
- Recursing on the assumed qualities of a rundown tank's content.
- Finished product and refinery fuel blending.
Individual Attributes for Refinery Planner
- A minimum of 2 years in refining operations, supply chain optimisation (crude and/or refined products) or refinery scheduling.
- Excellent understanding of the entire refinery process.
- A degree or equivalent qualification in chemical/petroleum engineering would be advantageous.
- Proficiency with linear programming (RPMS, PIMS, Haverly, Spiral) would be preferred.
- Experience using Advanced Excel/VBA/SQL.
- Fluency in English. Additional languages would be advantageous.
