A private equity firm based in Washington DC is adding an Associate as they begin investing out of their new fund. They focus on Tech and Utility Services investments to secure US Government and Military contracts. Private Equity Associate Responsibilites:
- Perform financial modeling and valuation analysis
- Conduct industry research and company analysis
- Participate in and drive the due diligence process when evaluating new investments
- Prepare presentation materials of investment opportunities
- Assist in the monitoring of the company's platform control investments, including direct collaboration with the firm's Controller and portfolio company CFOs on financial initiatives and participation in advancing strategic initiatives
- Bring an entrepreneurial mindset as we continue to build out our platforms and investment team
Private Equity Associate Qualifications:
- Pre-MBA candidates with 2 - 4 years of related work experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, finance, or management consulting are preferred
- Excellent financial modeling, Excel and quantitative skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, and expertise with PowerPoint
- Effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and new challenges
- Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
- Very strong attention to detail
- Ideal candidates will be accomplished, hardworking, professional, reliable/responsible, and eager to learn about buying and building companies
- Must be self-motivated, have the ability to work in both a team setting and on an independent basis, and have a strong sense of initiative
