General Responsibilities
- Manage the operations team across Singapore and China
- Leveraging your experience and understanding of the metals business, provide management support to the individual operators under your supervision
- Provide operational support to domestic trade flows, international trade flows, customs declarations, warehousing of inventory, cargo allocations, shipment bookings and all other aspects of operations within metals
- Oversight of the contracts administrator role
- Support to the traders on new business activity in both locations
- Provide the team with the necessary leadership and be the go to person within operations for all operational issues
- Work closely with the COO, other members of the operations team and representatives of other functions to drive improvements in existing processes
- Ensure scalability without compromising on the accuracy, quality and timeliness of data
- Partner with other functions and in some cases external parties to drive greater efficiency within the organisation
- Lead the Operations team by example, earn their respect and build a collaborative operations team across the different locations
- Communicate effectively with the team setting realistic goals and objectives in line with the functions objectives
- Ensure knowledge gaps are identified within the team and work with the team members to fill in those gaps
- Develop the teams overall capabilities to support the business
- Provide a framework for personal development in line with guidance from the COO and HR
Requirements
- At least 5 - 7 years of experience in A-Z trading operations
- Bachelor Degree
- Base refined metals operations experience
- Proficient in written and spoken English
- Team management experience, preferably multi-location
- Ability to perform in-depth analysis
- Awareness and understanding of physical metals markets
- Awareness and understanding of the paper trading markets
