I am currently supporting one of the most successful and fastest growing financial services companies in the German market. Their managing director of risk management is currently looking to replace a team leader that has progressed into another department internally. This position is to be based in the Frankfurt region, the team consists of four direct reports split across two locations. The head of validation is responsible for covering all relevant risk types with a special emphasis on market and business risks. The company is looking for a strong stakeholder and project manager with a solid mathematical or quantitative background. Managing the team, interacting with regulators and reporting to top levels internally as well as hands on work in the validation space will be the main tasks. The managing director needs someone to work independently and drive growth and regulation related projects for him - he is looking for someone with a strong can do-attitude. The company works in English, hence no German speaking skills are required for this position.
Further requirements are:
-Academic background in mathematics, quantitative finance, econometrics or a similar field
-Previous management or project leading experience
-Experience within a bank, a financial services company or a consultancy - ideally with a proven track record of successful projects in risk management, analytics or a similar function
-Excellent English speaking skills
-Strong interest in regulatory changes and market trends
-Very good communication skills
