A leading Growth Equity firm based out of Miami, FL is seeking an Associate to help the team, source, diligence, and add value to their early-stage investments within the healthcare, technology, and software sectors. As an Associate, you will help the team build a portfolio of compelling investments, develop a strong network of experienced individuals, and engage in deep thematic research on the industry. Each week, you will meet with very interesting companies and work very closely with them to help them reach their optimal potential while leaving a positive footprint on our world.
The Growth Equity Associate will be responsible for:
- Conduct financial, business, and product due diligence including meeting with company management teams; progress deals from first meeting to deal close
- Produce clear and concise investment theses and memorandums
- Develop financial models to project the market size, investment returns and valuations
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis within sub-sectors of healthcare and technology
- Become a specialist over time in multiple verticals within the healthcare space to identify trends and recommend investment opportunities
- Directly support senior investment team members to evaluate and diligence opportunities
- Support team with quarterly reporting of portfolio performance
- Utilize industry-leading technology and data to create insightful analysis
- Proactively develop relationships with identified early-stage (Seed, Series A, and B) entrepreneurs and service providers that align to our investment theses and scope
- Help manage the investment pipeline process
The Growth Equity Associate should have the following qualifications:
- Have a demonstrated passion for emerging trends in healthcare and technology
- Excitement to join and help build a venture fund portfolio
- Be inquisitive and analytical in distilling abstract ideas into thoughtful insights
- Show intuition through research and critical thinking; draw conclusions from imperfect information
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to interact with business partners and clearly articulate ideas to gain support for credible ideas
- Excel at networking and demonstrate the ability to build strong relationships from first impressions to long-term business partnerships
- Venture capital, investment banking, consulting, private equity, corporate development, or similar experience is required; preferably focused in healthcare and technology
- Operations background in start-up or corporation is a plus, but not required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to build financial models and understand start-up companies business model and financing economics
