A leading life and annuity insurer is looking to add a highly skilled Underwriter to spearhead its life underwriting department. Our client is currently seeking a Chief Life Underwriter to help bring this division to new heights. With your insights, leadership, and proven track record in life underwriting, the Chief Life Underwriter will be able to navigate complex risk assessments, develop underwriting guidelines, and foster a culture of continuous improvement for Jr. Underwriters.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will directly be involved with providing instructions for underwriting procedures and systems, monthly audits, and assisting associates with technical underwriting skills
- You will play a strategic role that will work with new and existing life policies to set strategy and guidelines.
- Managing a small team of life underwriters while mentoring and training Jr. staff.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Background within Life Underwriting
- 10+ years of relevant Underwriting experience
- Prior Management Experience is a plus
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and implement changes
