Vice President - Equity Derivatives Trader
Job Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned Equity Derivatives Trader at VP level to join a high-performing trading desk within a top-tier Chinese securities firm. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in pricing, trading, and risk management of equity derivatives across Asian and global markets, with a strong focus on options and structured products.
Key Responsibilities:
Trading & Pricing:
- Execute and manage trading strategies across equity derivatives including listed and OTC options, futures, and structured products.
- Price and hedge vanilla and exotic options linked to equities and indices in Hong Kong, China, US, and Japan markets.
Risk Management:
- Monitor and manage market, credit, and operational risks associated with the derivatives portfolio.
- Ensure compliance with internal risk limits and regulatory requirements.
Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement proprietary trading strategies to generate consistent P&L.
- Collaborate with quant and structuring teams to enhance pricing models and trading systems.
Client Engagement:
- Work closely with institutional clients to provide market insights and customised derivative solutions.
- Partner with sales and structuring teams to design and execute cross-border trades.
Team Collaboration:
- Mentor junior traders and contribute to the overall growth of the trading desk.
- Coordinate with legal, compliance, and operations teams to ensure smooth trade lifecycle management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in equity derivatives trading, preferably within a Chinese or Asian financial institution.
- Strong understanding of derivatives pricing, risk management, and market microstructure.
- Proficiency in trading systems and quantitative tools (e.g., Python, VBA, Bloomberg).
- Fluent in Mandarin and English; Cantonese is a plus.
