Tech Lead C++
A leading quantitative trading and technology firm is looking for an experienced C++ Tech Lead to join its Dublin office. This is an opportunity to lead a team building high-performance trading systems that operate in a highly demanding, real-time environment where technology is a key driver of business success.
Working closely with engineers, traders and quantitative researchers, you'll help define technical direction, mentor developers, and deliver scalable, low-latency solutions that directly impact trading performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of C++ engineers, providing technical guidance and promoting engineering best practices.
- Drive the design and development of mission-critical, high-performance systems.
- Collaborate with trading and quantitative teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Own architecture decisions, code quality, and long-term technical strategy.
- Optimise systems for performance, scalability, reliability and maintainability.
- Contribute to hands-on development while balancing leadership responsibilities.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing engineering culture.
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience developing complex systems in modern C++.
- Previous experience leading or mentoring engineering teams.
- Deep understanding of software architecture, multithreading, concurrency and performance optimisation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a track record of delivering large-scale projects.
- Experience working in performance-sensitive environments.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable
- Experience in quantitative trading, capital markets, market making or other fast-paced financial environments.
- Knowledge of Linux, distributed systems and low-latency development.
- Familiarity with Python or other scripting languages.
