Solutions Engineer
Position Summary:
A leading real estate firm is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Solutions/Network Engineer to join its technology team. This role is essential in designing, deploying, and maintaining secure, scalable, and high-performance network and infrastructure solutions that support the firm's property management systems, client-facing platforms, and internal operations. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in networking, cloud infrastructure (Azure and AWS), systems integration, and automation, with a strong understanding of the real estate industry's operational and compliance needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Engineering & Infrastructure Design:
- Architect and maintain enterprise-grade network infrastructure across corporate offices, data centers, and cloud environments.
- Design and implement LAN/WAN solutions, including routers, switches, firewalls, SD-WAN, and VPNs to support secure remote access and inter-office connectivity.
- Monitor and optimize network performance, ensuring high availability and low latency for real-time property management systems and tenant portals.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to enforce network security policies and implement intrusion detection/prevention systems.
Cloud Infrastructure (Azure & AWS):
- Design and manage hybrid cloud environments using Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS), supporting scalable application hosting, data storage, and disaster recovery.
- Implement cloud networking solutions including virtual networks, VPCs, subnets, gateways, and peering configurations.
- Support cloud migration initiatives, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations and tenant services.
- Utilize cloud-native tools for monitoring, automation, and cost optimization (e.g., Azure Monitor, AWS CloudWatch, CloudFormation, Terraform).
Solutions Architecture & Systems Integration:
- Lead the technical design and deployment of integrated IT solutions that support leasing platforms, CRM systems, financial applications, and smart building technologies.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline infrastructure provisioning, monitoring, and maintenance.
- Integrate third-party platforms (e.g., Yardi, AppFolio, Salesforce) with internal systems to ensure seamless data flow and operational efficiency.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption strategies to enhance business capabilities and tenant experiences.
Operational Support & Troubleshooting:
- Serve as a Tier 3 escalation point for complex network and infrastructure issues across office and property sites.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement long-term fixes to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain detailed documentation of incidents, resolutions, and system changes for compliance and audit purposes.
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure all network and infrastructure solutions comply with industry regulations such as SOC 2, GDPR, and real estate-specific data privacy standards.
- Participate in audits and provide technical evidence of compliance.
- Implement and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans for critical systems and services.
Collaboration & Leadership:
- Work closely with property managers, leasing agents, finance teams, and external vendors to deliver integrated technology solutions.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and IT support staff.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and executive leadership effectively.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in network engineering or solutions architecture.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF) and enterprise networking platforms (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto).
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS), including cloud networking, security, and automation.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation and orchestration.
- Familiarity with container orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Preferred:
- Certifications such as CCNP, AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Network Engineer Associate.
- Experience in the real estate or property management industry.
- Knowledge of ITIL practices and service management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira).
- Exposure to smart building technologies, IoT, and building automation systems.
