About the Role:
A leading insurer is expanding its national cyber underwriting capabilities and is looking for a sharp, relationship-driven underwriter to join its NYC office. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and help shape a high-impact, retail-focused cyber portfolio.
What You'll Do:
- Underwrite excess cyber risks across a national book, with some primary exposure
- Manage and grow broker relationships, particularly with major national retailers
- Navigate a dynamic market with evolving carrier appetites and relationship sensitivities
- Travel to key markets for broker meetings and business development
- Help transition the book from wholesale-heavy to retail-driven
- Collaborate with a lean, high-performing team and take ownership of strategic accounts
What You Bring:
- Experience in cyber underwriting (carrier or MGA)
- Entrepreneurial mindset with curiosity and confidence in complex underwriting scenarios
- Strong relationship-building skills; existing broker relationships are a plus
- NYC-based preferred; flexibility for in-person meetings is important
Compensation:
- Base salary around $125K
- 20-30% discretionary bonus
- Flexibility to go higher based on experience and impact
