Cost Accountant
Selby Jennings is currently partnered with a global leader in custom adhesive development, with over 60 years of experience in custom adhesive formulation, materials science, and flexible manufacturing.
Due to organizational growth, they are looking to bring on a Cost Accountant, supporting the Finance & Manufacturing plant operations. Responsibilities include analyzing manufacturing variances, identifying and analyzing cost saving opportunities, maintaining inventory and cost accuracy, and working with the wider team on process optimization and implementation.
Responsibilities Include:
- Identify, prepare, analyze and report manufacturing variances, scrap, related product returns and develop margin analyses by business.
- Review standard costing and job costing models, reserve methodologies to identify opportunities for standardization and process improvement.
- Conduct research and perform analytical studies relating to cost analyses and profitability.
- Assist in period end closing, prepare journal entries as necessary, and analyze inventory valuation, inventory roll forward reconciliation and period end analyses as required.
- Assist with process improvement & implementation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
- CPA, CMA, or progress towards attainment
- Experience in Manufacturing and/or public accounting
- Experience with Oracle or other ERP systems
- Strong Microsoft Excel proficiency
