Controller
A rapidly growing healthcare organization is seeking a Controller to lead the accounting function and partner closely with executive leadership during an exciting phase of expansion.
This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting support, compliance, and team development. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in GAAP accounting, experience in a regulated industry, and the ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, and cash management
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP
- Manage account reconciliations, close processes, and financial controls
- Analyze financial performance and provide variance analysis and recommendations to leadership
- Coordinate external audits, tax compliance, and regulatory reporting
- Maintain and enhance internal controls, policies, and accounting procedures
- Partner with executive leadership to support strategic planning and business growth
- Lead, mentor, and develop an accounting team focused on continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA designation required
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing accounting teams
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Experience with ERP systems, accounting software, and advanced Excel
- Demonstrated success improving processes and scaling accounting operations
- Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills
Preferred Experience
- Healthcare, life sciences, pharmaceutical services, pharmacy, or other highly regulated industry experience
- Multi-entity or multi-location accounting environments
- Exposure to high-growth organizations undergoing operational expansion
- Advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred
