Business Manager - PM Solutions
A leading multi strategy hedge fund is hiring a Business Manager to join their Portfolio Manager Solutions team in NYC.
The fund has over 10 years of track record and runs a variety of strategies, and these hires will be supporting the growth in the Equity Long/Short, Equity Volatility, and Quantitative Strategies businesses. The Head of Global Operations is expanding the PM Solutions team in New York to onboard new Portfolio Managers and work with them every step of the way in a cross-functional role.
This hire will help quarterback bridge the gaps across all aspects of new and existing processes, working closely with PMs to understand their needs and optimize their risk-taking ability. Working with Quants, Risk Management, Technology, Operations, and Middle/Back office groups on immediate needs and longer term projects. The Head of Global Ops wants to utilize this team and cement them in an essential front office facing role where they can enable PMs to succeed and scale their books.
Given the cross functional nature of the role, the hiring team is open to a variety of candidate backgrounds that could all be successful. This is a great opportunity for someone who is highly commercial and understands the trading lifecycle who might feel siloed in their current role. Also a great opportunity to have face time with Portfolio Managers, the Head of Trading, Head of Global Ops, and with the C-Suite.
Requirements:
- 5-10 years of experience in a Trading, Trade Support, Risk Management, Operations, Business Management or a COO function
- Preference for Equity L/S experience, open to experience covering Cash Equity Trading, Equity Derivatives/Equity Volatility, Quantitative Strategies, Systematic Macro
- Proficiency using Python, SQL, PowerBI, Tableau to analyze and visualize data
- Solid understanding of financial markets, trading systems, portfolio construction methodology, investment strategies, and trading operations
- Excellent written and verbal communication + commercial mindset
- Self-starter attitude to take ownership of projects and lead them to completion
