Actuarial Analyst II

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Actuarial Analyst I to support pricing and rate filing activities across our health insurance products. This entry-level role is ideal for candidates with foundational actuarial experience and a strong interest in developing expertise in regulatory filings, pricing strategy, and actuarial modeling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and review of premium rates for individual and group health plans.
  • Support the preparation of regulatory rate filings and actuarial memorandums for state and federal agencies.
  • Analyze claims data, trend factors, and utilization metrics to inform pricing decisions.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, finance, and product teams to ensure alignment of pricing strategies.
  • Maintain documentation of methodologies and assumptions used in pricing models.
  • Contribute to actuarial modeling and forecasting efforts under the guidance of senior team members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of actuarial experience, preferably in health insurance.
  • Completion of at least one actuarial exam; actively pursuing ASA designation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel; experience with actuarial software or programming (e.g., SQL, R, Python) is a plus.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with ACA, Medicare Advantage, or Medicaid pricing frameworks.
  • Exposure to regulatory filing processes and actuarial documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
