Risk Analyst
A proprietary trading firm is seeking a Risk Analyst to oversee daily trading operations, monitor market exposure, and support the development of automated risk reporting tools. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills, a passion for financial markets, and experience in futures trading. The analyst will work closely with traders, developers, and operations teams to identify emerging risks, adjust internal and external risk limits, and ensure the firm's risk infrastructure remains robust and responsive to market dynamics.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor market risk exposure across trading strategies and respond to emerging risks driven by news and economic events.
- Produce and analyze daily post-trade reports to evaluate market and operational risk.
- Interface with exchanges and clearing firms to manage and adjust risk limits and metrics.
- Modify internal risk parameters within proprietary trading systems.
- Troubleshoot trading and software-related issues, escalating when necessary.
- Collaborate with trading and quant teams to assess the risk profile of new strategies.
- Automate reporting processes using Excel macros, VBA, and Python.
- Gather and synthesize risk-related data from internal and external sources.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the futures industry is preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, VBA, and macros.
- Must have python and SQL experience
