Financial Controls Manager

My client is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Finance Controls Manager to lead the development, implementation, and oversight of financial control frameworks across the organization. This role ensures compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices, while supporting risk mitigation and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Design, implement, and maintain robust internal financial controls.
  • Monitor compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley), GAAP, and other relevant regulations.
  • Conduct periodic control assessments and risk evaluations.

• Audit & Risk Management

  • Serve as the primary liaison for internal and external audits.
  • Coordinate remediation efforts for audit findings and control deficiencies.
  • Develop and maintain risk registers and control matrices.

• Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and enhance control effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement automation and system improvements.

• Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare and present control performance reports to senior leadership.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of control procedures and updates.

• Training & Awareness

  • Educate finance and operational teams on control requirements and best practices.
  • Promote a culture of accountability and risk awareness across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CIA preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in financial controls, audit, or risk management.
• Strong understanding of SOX, GAAP, and internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO).
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and financial reporting tools.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
