Senior Fund Accountant - Up to $125k base + Bonus
Company Overview: We are partnered with a real estate operating company with over $1B in AUM. They are seeking a senior accountant to join their accounting team.
Comp Band: $105k - $125k + Bonus
In Office Policy:
- 3 days a week, west side
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparation and analysis of financial statements, general ledgers, subsidiary ledgers, and cash flow projections for assigned funds.
- Perform NAV (Net Asset Value) calculations, income and expense accruals, and reconciliation of cash, positions, and transactions.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and other applicable accounting standards.
- Coordinate with auditors during annual audits and provide necessary documentation.
- Perform daily activities such as daily cash entries, review and post draws, and perform bank reconciliations.
- Create, reconcile, verify and validate all entries and postings to balance sheet and income statement accounts. Prepare reconciliations to support balances.
- Provide accurate and timely financial information to other internal departments such as Investments and Asset Management. Prepare financial statements under GAAP during QE and YE timelines.
- Prepare contribution and distribution calculations, summaries and notices as needed.
- Prepare quarterly management fee calculations, journal entries, and amortization schedules.
- Provide information for and take part in Q&A for audits, tax preparation at year end.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in at a Big 10 CPA firm (e.g., active senior with 1 busy season under your belt). Active CPA license or significant progress towards having obtained your license will set you apart.
- Open to a combination of public accounting and industry experience at a real estate firm, REIT, or private equity real estate focused shop.
- Experience with Yardi a plus, but not a requirement (especially for candidates coming straight from public accounting)
