Investment Banking Associate | Consumer

Selby Jennings is partnered with a leading Boutique focused on upper middle market and large cap Consumer M&A. This team has seen incredible success in transaction execution, across the beauty and fashion industries. This group is looking to bring (2) Associates to their growing team to execute on their active pipeline.

Ideal candidates hold degrees from top schools, and 2-4 years of experience in Consumer mergers and acquisitions. Additionally, these candidates are currently located or open to relocating to Los Angeles, California.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support execution of M&A transactions, IPOs, and other capital markets activities within the consumer sector.
• Conduct in-depth industry research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
• Build and maintain complex financial models including valuation, merger consequences, and leveraged buyout analyses.
• Prepare client presentations, pitch books, and marketing materials.
• Collaborate with senior bankers and clients to develop strategic insights and recommendations.
• Mentor and manage Analysts, ensuring high-quality deliverables and professional development.

Qualifications:

• 2-4 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or corporate finance, with a focus on the consumer industry preferred.
• Strong academic background with a degree in finance, economics, or a related field; MBA or CFA a plus.
• Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial databases (e.g., Capital IQ, FactSet).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
