Head of operations - Securities, Strategy focused

Our client, a leading securities firm with a strong presence in Greater China, is seeking a strategic and hands-on Head of Operations to lead and transform its operational infrastructure. This role is ideal for a forward-thinking leader with deep experience in process optimization, systems enhancement, and cross-border operational strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the firm's operations function across trade support, settlements, corporate actions, client onboarding, and middle office.
• Drive strategic initiatives to improve operational efficiency, scalability, and automation across all business lines.
• Oversee system upgrades and workflow redesigns, partnering with IT and vendors to implement robust infrastructure solutions.
• Collaborate with front office, compliance, risk, and finance teams to ensure seamless trade lifecycle management and regulatory alignment.
• Develop and monitor KPIs, SLAs, and control frameworks to ensure high-quality service delivery and risk mitigation.
• Lead and mentor a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
• Act as a key liaison with Mainland China offices and stakeholders, ensuring operational consistency and regulatory compliance across jurisdictions.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in operations within securities, brokerage, or investment banking, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record in systems implementation, process reengineering, and operational strategy.
• Strong understanding of trade lifecycle, post-trade operations, and regulatory frameworks across Hong Kong and Mainland China.
• Fluent in Mandarin and English (required).
