The Role

As part of our Middle Market Casualty team, you'll be responsible for evaluating and managing a high volume of account submissions daily, requiring sharp attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.

You'll specialize in a specific vertical, driving production and contributing to the growth of a targeted product line.

This role reports to the AVP of Middle Market Casualty and offers a flexible schedule, unlimited PTO, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Key Responsibilities

Underwriting & Risk Assessment:

  • Review and underwrite new and renewal submissions, ensuring alignment with company guidelines and authority levels.
  • Evaluate risk profiles and apply appropriate pricing strategies using proprietary rating tools.

Portfolio Management:

  • Build and maintain a profitable book of business with strong renewal potential.
  • Meet or exceed productivity and growth targets.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Maintain clear and effective communication with brokers and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide timely responses and uphold service standards.

Technical Precision:

  • Apply deep knowledge of coverage forms, rating methodologies, and underwriting principles to ensure accurate decision-making.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in E&S casualty underwriting or related insurance roles
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative spirit
