The Commodities team at Selby Jennings offers a specialist service to clients and is globally recognised as a provider of choice to a diverse range of Investment Banks, Hedgefunds, Asset Managers and Trading houses. The coverage of the team spans the physical and financial sectors across sales, trading, broking, chartering and asset optimization.

Traditionally, the focus of the team has been centered around the Energy markets, with established and intimate relationships built up with clients and candidates across Oil, Gas, Power, Coal and Freight. As the team has expanded, and in order to reflect the current market trends, coverage has been broadened to include a dedicated focus on the Metals market as well as the Agricultural and Soft Commodities sectors.

The Commodities team also has a global reach, with recent placements ranging from London to Houston, Singapore to Geneva. Several consultants have had the invaluable experience of 6 month secondments in locations outside of the London headquarters enabling them to fully integrate their knowledge with their designated local market.

Expansion in commodities has been universal, from bulge bracket investment banks and entrepreneurial trade houses, to trading majors looking to capitalise on their physical market presence, and this is a trend likely to continue into the foreseeable future.
