Mining Analyst (Precious and Base Metals) – Canada

My client is a leading firm in Canada who are looking to expand their team, they require a senior research analyst with experience in fundamental . This is an outstanding opportunity for a leading analyst to join this expanding team in one of the largest sectors within Canada. You will be responsible for writing high quality research reports for the mining sector and must be able to demonstrate an excellent ability to write concise yet detailed research with outstanding knowledge of the sector. The role will include developing and maintaining company specific financial models in addition to the high level of analysis. It is ESSENTIAL that the candidate has come from an industry background working an as engineer or a geologist within the market.

The Role:-

• Carrying out fundamental equity research covering the Canadian and US metals and mining sector
• Working closely with the head of research
• Co-ordinating with the global team on weekly and monthly publications
• Create detailed cost models, cash flows forecasts, estimates, budgets and schedules for various mining projects,
• Prepare and maintain presentations and databases with global staff
• Mentoring junior members of the team, to enable the production of highly detailed and strong quality research

The ideal candidate should have or be able to demonstrate:-

• an outstanding knowledge of the mining sector
• a track record of excellent, high quality research publications
• direct mining industry experience is ESSENTIAL for the role either as an engineer or geologist
• relevant degree in the mining sector is always beneficial
• candidates already located within Canada will be given a distinct advantage
