Deputy CFO / Financial Controller

A leading Private equity firm are looking to add an experienced CFO/Financial controller to one of their portfolio companies in Tanzania. rnYou will report directly
You will report directly to the CFO of the firm and be involved in committee meetings.

Your responsibilities will include:-

  • Strengthening the firm financial controls and providing effective monitoring of the business on a continuous basis.
  • Provide high standards of financial control, and ensure effective management of working capital and a strong sense of disciplined financial direction
  • Keeping the management team continually aware of the financial state of the various operations and give advance warning of any situation which might require corrective action
  • Lead the analysis of Company financial and operating results (monthly, quarterly, and annually) and development of daily and weekly indicators for use by senior management
  • Support the statutory audit and tax processes, liaising with outside accountants and advisors
  • Support the development of financial objectives, budgets and strategic plans. Ensure that challenging budgets for profits, cash flow and capital expenditure are agreed and achieved
  • Exercise firm control over capital expenditure. Keep management fully informed of all local and international transactions, particularly with regard to loans, credit facilities, exchange fluctuations, currency exposure and movement of funds
  • Through appropriate hiring and management, ensure that the Company`s financial and administrative functions are staffed with capable individuals

In order to be considered for the role you must be:-
– A Chartered Accountant with at least 8-10 years of post-articles experience in audit and/or financial controller roles.
– A clear track record of professional development, and leadership experience in controller function
– Financial management experience with multinational corporations, in both developed and emerging (preferably African) markets
– Deep understanding of world-class financial controls and systems in a multi-national corporate environment
– Computer skills, particularly relating to accounting software and ERP systems
